On the road again....

Avery and I just returned from visiting my family in Sumter for a few days while Brian and Brody stayed home and did boy stuff. Our departure was a little hurried, being that I was trying to arrange driving time during naptime. My plan worked but in the meantime I once again forgot my camera. I know, I know. I'm a mom now...isn't there some unwritten rule that I'm supposed to never go anywhere without that thing?? I even remembered my Q-tips and night cream for Pete's sake. Can you tell I'm mad at myself?? My sisters church has a fall festival every year that took place Sunday evening. We went intending on dressing Avery in her Goldfish costume but it was really hot once we got there and I decided comfort was more important than seeing everyone getting a good laugh. We stayed for about an hour while Alex, Noah and Piper played different games for candy, bounced on the jump castle...got more candy....ate a hotdog..and some candy. It was fun and next year will definitely be more exciting when she can run around with all of the other kids....and get me some candy! She absolutley loves her cousins, especially her oldest cousin Alex. Alex is in the second grade and has what they call "showing time" every Tuesday...this is basically show and tell. The students are required to write a paragraph about what they are showing and Alex decided that she wanted baby Avery to be her show and tell. Avery thought it was a great idea so we went to school today and stood in front of the class while Alex read her beautiful paragraph about Avery. She told everyone that Avery has blue eyes and likes to laugh. It was so precious and something I will definitley write in her baby book. I wish we lived closer to ALL of our family but am very thankful we see everyone as much as we do. We love and miss our whole family and I am so glad Avery will be surrounded by so much love!!
