The End of 2009!

I cannot believe 2009 has come and gone....I also cannot believe I haven't posted any recent pictures on here! We had a wonderful end to the year with Avery's 2nd birthday, which we celebrated this year with my niece Piper who turned 5. Some of the pictures show our joint birthday party..we had so much fun visiting with everyone and heading to James Island County Park for the Festival of Lights. Brian, Avery, Brody and I packed up the car and headed to Sumter for a few days to celebrate Christmas with my family and then we made the very long trek to Wisconsin to visit Brian's family. Avery and Brody did extremely well in the car...I on the otherhand was another story:) We were able to see so many family members and spend a good week with Nana, Grandpa and Auntie Audrey. Avery had so much fun playing inside and of course in the snow! We were so thankful that we were able to do this and that Avery was able to meet and spend time with 2nd cousins...wow how the family is growing!! We miss everyone and look forward to our next visit. This montage will be rather long so grab your milk duds and enjoy the show!

Happy Halloween.....Avery's got a secret!!

We had such a good time visiting with my family in Sumter for Halloween. Avery loved trick-or-treating with her cousins, Alex, Noah and Piper. We decided to take the wagon along just in case any of the kids got tired. Avery and Piper rode for a bit but once Alex and Noah started running from house to house, they had to join in as well. We were so proud of our little fairy princess as she ran up to every door and got candy. She was so excited to be a part of it and she got a pumpkin full of candy! Even after eating TONS of sugar, she willingly went to bed around 9:00 and had a good night sleep. Overall, we had a wonderful visit and here are a few pics of our visit. Oh wait, Avery's secret will be revealed at the end of the montage. Pay close attention!!

And the search begins....

We took Avery to the pumpkin patch this weekend and I have to say it was hilarious watching her try and pick out her five pumpkins....yes folks, I said five. Thanks to the "Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate..." book, we had to get a whole family of the orange beauties just in case Avery decided to have a meltdown. After many attempts at trying to pick up the rather large ones, Avery decided to venture over to the gravel roadway and start throwing rocks. Nice one. Needless to say, Brian and I very quickly picked out our gourd family and headed on our way. Here are a few pictures of our fun family time!! Happy Harvest Time!

The Red, the White and the Blue!!!

I know I'm a little late in posting regarding our July 4th festivities but better late than never...right?!?! We celebrated our 4th a little early on Friday the 3rd by hitting the beach to try and beat the crowd. We were slightly successful but once 2:00 hit and the tide starting coming in, we decided to head home. Avery actually slept on the beach for 3 hours!! Brian and I seriously didn't know what to do with ourselves! After heading home and getting cleaned up, we ventured over to the Joe for a Riverdogs game and to watch the fireworks. We weren't quite sure how Avery would respond to them but she didn't seem to mind them a bit and was actually in awe. After receiving a baseball, a balloon dog, boiled peanuts, M & M's (to keep her awake, of course) and some dip n' dots, it was finally time!! She knew something was up as soon as all of the stadium lights were turned off and the crowd started clapping. She just sat there, wide-eyed and clapped after every loud BANG!! We didn't make it home until 10:15pm but she settled in and off she drifted to sleep. Included are some pictures of us getting ice cream and playing at the park on the 4th. We had so much fun together as a family and I am so thankful to have such a wonderful one at that! Enjoy

Father's Day and a Super Hero

We had such a good Father's Day with Daddy!! We all went downtown for brunch at Fleet Landing and headed over to the Pineapple Fountain at Waterfront Park. We were sure Avery would jump right in, dress and all, but after a good strip down all she did was dip in her feet. So funny! Avery gave daddy a koozie that she made for him and he also received brand new Rainbow Flip Flop's...he needed them:) Avery has also decided she is now a super hero...so we decided to get her a cape. Just a few pictures but enjoy!

Avery's news!!

Avery wants everyone to know that she is a big girl now!! As of this weekend, Avery now sleeps in a big girl bed. She was so excited to watch as Brian put it together and waited patiently as he had to make a trip back to Babies R Us to replace 2 of the parts that were cracked. Her patience paid off because she slept like a baby...literally!! She only attempted to escape once and that was the first night we put her down..she slept until 8:30 the next morning. WOW!! She is still enjoying it and I know that it probably won't be this easy in the future..probably the near future!! She also got a new pool this weekend and as you can tell by the pictures, she loves it just as much as her bed. She is doing so well and we are so blessed to have such a sweet little girl. I've also included a few pictures of Brody, the golden retriever's new haircut. I'm not too crazy about it but it's starting to grow on me! Enjoy
