Catching up!!!

I apologize for not keeping up with this lately! We've been a bit busy and without a computer for a little bit so my blogging skills are a little rusty!! Here are a few random pictures of activities that have occurred in the Clark household...they are in no particular order but hope you enjoy!

It's Zoo time!!

The Saturday before Mother's Day we decided to head to Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia for a wild day of checking out the animals. Avery has been really into animals...especially farm animals..and so we thought she would enjoy the zoo. That she did!! Nana, Papa, Amma, and the whole Libby clan met us there and we had so much fun! We saw penguins, a lion, monkeys, zebras, giraffes, elephants, koala, flamingos and SOOO many more!! Out of all the animals Avery could have chosen to be the most excited about, she picked the chicken...so funny!! Enjoy the slideshow! Oh yeah, Avery got to choose one souvenir from the gift shop and she chose Wyatt, her new gorilla...he shows up at the end:)

Mother's Day at the beach!

What a wonderful day we had at the beach on Mother's Day! Avery had a BLAST and we couldn't keep her out of the water...I know she doesn't remember being there last year but she definitely showed no fear! She immediately ran to the water and stuck her face right in it....it tasted a little different than bath water or even chlorinated pool water but she didn't mind one bit. She ran around, playing in the water, sand and the tidal pools for 2 hours but showed no signs of slowing down. She visited with other children, picked up shells and laughed at the hermit crabs. We decided to take a walk down the beach and low and behold, Avery fell asleep in the stroller. She slept on a few blankets under the tent for about an hour and a half and even slept through a small rain shower. She was zonked!!! We packed up the truck and headed out shortly after she woke up and I have to say it was the most relaxing day I've had in awhile...I think Brian would agree! Here is a slideshow of our fun day.....I truly feel blessed to be able to celebrate such a wonderful day with my family and am thankful to be a mother!

Backyard Fun!!

Here are a few pics of Avery and Brody with her sand and water table...she loves this thing!! She is definitely more interested in the water side at the present time. Also included are a few pictures of Avery with her new beloved turtle water can that came all the way from Grandpa in Wisconsin. Thank you Grandpa...she loves it and I am glad my flowers are getting a little extra water...and her clothes:) Enjoy!

I love Jelly Beans!!!

This was the first Easter that the Easter Bunny came to visit Avery!! She was so excited! We were staying at Nana and Papa's house when he arrived and Avery woke up around 7:00 am and discovered a trail of Easter eggs from her room to her basket. She had so much fun picking up the eggs and of course eating candy at 7am!! We went to church with Nana and Papa and Avery had a blast in the nursery...she even showed her belly button to everyone there. My sister and her family came over for lunch along with Amma and we had a big Easter egg hunt in Nana's backyard....93 eggs to be exact! Piper found the one and only "special" egg filled with chocolate and a dollar bill...courtesy of uncle Brian.. and was so kind to share her candy with everyone. We had such a good time visiting with everyone and I have to say that my child doesn't want to eat anything but jelly beans and robin eggs since Easter morning....totally my fault:) Here is a slideshow showing our fun Easter! Hope everyone had a wonderful day.

A birthday, the beetle bug and the mohawk!!

If you think...by the title of this blog...that I am in the process of titling my newest children's book, you are mistaken. This is a collaboration of the remaining pictures on my camera. My niece, Alex, had her 8th birthday on St. Patty's Day and so we loaded up the fam and headed to Sumter to celebrate. Happy Belated Birthday again Alex!! We love you. Some of these pictures are extreme random ones of Avery as she poses for the camera....I can never get good ones so when I do I have to post. Does anyone else despise the 3 second delay on digital cameras?!?!? Once I scrounge up $800, maybe I'll invest in a better one. Anywho..Brian, Avery and I flew to Wisconsin to visit Brian's family and ONCE AGAIN I got no pictures. I did take my camera but couldn't find where I packed it until I got home. I never knew there was a secret compartment in my diaper bag....there it was. We had such a good time while we were there and the weather was wonderful!! We celebrated great Grandma Dollens 80th birthday as well as visited with many other family members, who had their cameras and I feel sure will share some pics with me later. Claudia..tell Mike we want copies!!! I do have a funny story to share about our trip. Every spring as the weather gets a little warmer, Nana and Grandpa Clark are blessed to have little Asian Beetle Bugs (aka Lady Bugs) congregate on the inside of the windows in their house. Aren't they so lucky?!? While Avery was playing one day, Brian found her munching on something and looked down beside her and found two little wings...remnants of what was a beetle bug. That poor little thing was being crunched on by 12 extremely sharp baby teeth. We did our best effort at trying to remove it but we too got bit in the process. I guess he tasted good and maybe she needed a little more protein that day!! The last few pics are what Avery's hair looks like at the end of a day being in a hair rubber band...and so we have the Mohawk!! I will post more pictures of our trip once I pawn them off of family members and for those of you who are wondering, no I am not writing children's books!!!

Swim Little Fish!!!

Brian and I may have killed Bonnie and Clyde but there's a new fish swimming around the Clark household! Avery started swimming lessons yesterday and will continue for three more lessons. We knew she loved bath time but I wasn't quite sure how she would do in lessons but she thoroughly enjoyed herself. She is in a class of about 10 children ranging from 8 months to 3 years and she was the only little one that willingly went under water. She kept putting her face in the water and coming up cackling...she truly loved it! We will go again tomorrow and twice next week so I will keep you posted. Sorry this is the only picture I have and it isn't that great of one...it does however show off her newest shiner!! Brian is going to try and come next week for some better pics. Enjoy!
