Happy Birthday Weekend Avery!!!

The time has finally come and gone...all the planning and preparation and it's over in a flash. Brian and I...okay, really just myself, have been planning for Avery's very 1st birthday party for months. Her birthday was Thursday and the day was spent making cookies for her party which was held on Saturday as well as opening presents from mommy and daddy. All week long, she attempted to sneak and open her presents, which were half-heartedly hidden as I explained to her that she could open them on her birthday. As I approached her crib Thursday morning and sang Happy Birthday, she quickly pushed me away, hoped down and literally ran down the hall to her presents. Unfortunately she had to wait for daddy to get home that evening but she did okay. After eating many sugar cookies all day long...come to think of it, I think that was all she ate for supper...daddy was home and time to open presents. She was way more interested in the bows than the gift itself but it was entertaining to say the least. Her birthday had come and gone but her party was right around the corner and I was stressed!! I don't think I will ever try and outdo myself on that one. We decorated the house in every fish decoration I could find and donned the table with crab dip and crackers, goldfish crackers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the shape of fish, seaweed bread (spinach bread), swedish fish as well as her cake and sugar cookies that I cutout as fish and starfish. We had about 25-30 people come help us celebrate and really had a wonderful time. Three of Avery's Little Gym buddies showed up as well and my family who came from Sumter. The majority of our friends were able to come, with the exception of a few whom we missed greatly. But most of all, we wish Avery's Nana and Grandpa could have been here from Wisconsin but they will be here to celebrate Christmas. A good time was had by all and I feel certain I will be finding confetti on my floor well into the new year. Enjoy!!
