So not with it!!
I have no pictures or videos to share with this post, just a little story about how my day started off. Avery goes to The Littly Gym every Wednesday morning around 11:00am. Little Gym is basically a place where she can go crawl around and play with other babies her age. They also do tumbling, balance exercises, play with balls, bubbles and of course the big parachute. She absoluteley adores this time and so do I. Being that this age group of children are still very small, a parent or guardian is required to attend with the child....this is me and Brian stops in every chance he gets. Well..there is quite a mix of us in there...children and moms. All of them are very friendly and nice and we enjoy our time to talk about what our babies are doing. Avery is the only mobile baby in her class so I spend the majority of the time chasing after her while she is trying to pull other babies hair, play with things that aren't supposed to be played with etc. One of the rules is that you must take off all shoes and socks before entering the room because it is basically one big gym mat. Well I have taken notice of all of the other mothers perfectly pedicured toes and decided this morning I was going to attempt to take off the nail polish that had been on my toes for about a decade, and repaint them a pretty shade of pale pale pink. I got done with both feet and realized that I probably needed another coat. For those of you that have used this polish you can understand the two coat rule. I put the second coat on my left foot and just finished with the right and had just enough time for them to dry, put on my jeans, change Avery and head out of the door. Avery was on the bathroom floor beside me playing with the bath mat and as soon as I put my right foot down, she decided to flip the mat up and over on top of my foot. Instead of gently picking the mat off, I yanked my foot out real quick and you can just imagine what my toes looked like. Normally, I would have thought to myself "This is why I don't pay to have this done", and laugh, but today was different. All of the other moms, and sometimes dads, would be looking at my fuzz covered, mangled looking toenails and wonder what happened. Because of the color of this polish, not only was it obvious I did a really bad paint job, but it also looked like I had serious toe nail fungus!! It was gross. I didn't have enough time to remedy the problem so off to Little Gym we went. As you can imagine, I tried my best to "hide" that foot by pulling my jeans over it while sitting down. But in my shamefulness, I ended up flat on my face while I was trying to chase after Avery and get my foot out from my jeans all at once....it was my blasted big toe that got stuck. You can imagine how embarrassed I was when one of the moms, who was wearing her Ed Hardy workout pants, had to run after Avery while I picked myself up. For those of you who aren't familiar with Ed Hardy.....these pants run about $120 a pair. Needless to say, from that point on I didn't care about what my toes looked like and tried to focus on Avery and having fun at Little Gym. Lesson learned, I don't have to be "with it" to be a good mom. Hope you enjoyed!!
